Energy, dirt and fun - and some awesome family news!

Nine kids and one dog in the same house for a weekend with only four adults - can you say fun!!! Some of the highlights were:

Gwen somehow slept in until 11:30 Sunday morning! I don't know how she did it, but she managed to somehow.

Owen gets points for the best question of the weekend - at least in my book. He asked, "Are you the special one in this house?" I looked at him and said, 'Everyone is special in this house and in your house." He looked at me again thinking, "But you are the only girl in this house so you are special." It was so sweet!

Someone put a diaper in the toliet in the main bathroom. Louise took are of the cleanup, bless her heart. Sorry Louise!

Roxy, our naughty but very cute puppy, decided to run through the sprinklers then go play in the dirt! I think she was looking to get the kids to do the same and play with her, but they luckily didn't fall for it. (Thank goodness) We caught her after a fun little chase around the back yard a few times and gave her a bath before she ran all over the inside of the house. Good thing all of the kids have a lot of energy.

Nothing was broken, no one got hurt, and though there was a lack of sleep on the parents part we all survived!

Exciting Family news! Annette and Scott are going to have a baby!!! She is due March 22, 2010! We are so excited for her and hope that she has an easy pregnancy, if there is such a thing! Congratulations Annette and Scott!!!

Our thoughts are also with Uncle Kirk, Julie, Amanda and Elizabeth at this time. Kirk went in for his 6 month checkup and his cancer has returned. He will be staring treatments again in the near future to continue his fight! We are with you all of the way and hope for the best!

Recipe for Oreo Truffles - highly recommended by Heather Cornelius

  • 18 oz package oreos - finely crushed
  • 8 oz package cream cheese softened
  • 1 pound baking chocolate, melted (anykind you like)
  • In a large mixing bowl combine crushed oreos and softened cream cheese. Beat with a mixer on low until well blended.
  • Form 1 inch balls by hand. Dip in melted chocolate and place on cookie sheet covered with waxed paper.
  • Refridgerate 1 hour or until firm. Then eat and of course share them with someone. This recipe makes about 50 truffles.

Oreo Truffles made by Heather - of course dark chocolate was used!
